Der Traumpfad // Venezia

With my Der Traumpfad hike completed, having walked over the Alps and the Dolomites from München in Germany, I had a couple of days to spend in Venezia. Here are some pictures and impressions from my time in the City of Canals.

Usual canal scene in Venezia.

The Grand Canal.

View from Ponte dell'Accademia, the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute at the end of the Grand Canal.

Venetian masks.

Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.

Chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore.

Gondolas.

Taking a gondola across the Grand Canal (picture taken by Florian).

Venezia from the top of Campanile di San Marco.

San Giorgio Maggiore.

Basilica di San Marco from Campanile di San Marco.

Ornaments on Basilica di San Marco.

Venetian painter and bridge.

Having walked all the way from München, these sculptures where those that striked me the most from an art display in Giardini della Biennale.

Venezia.

Ponte di Rialto.

Getting lost in Venezia brings you to places you does not know about, here from an unknown square.

Dorsoduro, bridge.

In Chiesa della Madonna dell'Orto.

Ponte Chiodo, Venezia is a city of bridges too.

Burano with its colorful houses.

In Burano.

Sunset over Venezia.

Sunset light over Grand Canal.

Piazza di San Marco.

Gondolas in the evening with San Giorgio Maggiore in the background.

The Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri) in the evening.

Evening scene from Piazza di San Marco.
