Camino Francés // day 21 // León

Distance: 0km (466.5km).

Alessandra, Torsten and I decided to have a rest or zero day in León, while Martina continued walking. Thankfully, our albergue let us stay for one more night, but on the other hand we had to be out at the same time as the rest of the pilgrims.

Quiet streets in León in the morning.

The old walls of the Muralla antigua de León.

So while the other pilgrims gradually left the city after having breakfast, we walked its quiet streets as light slowly returned to the sky. It was another way of experiencing a city.

Museo Casa Botines Gaudí.

Santa María de Regla de León Cathedral.

We spent the time in León walking its streets while looking at its buildings and architecture. Saw the old walls of the Muralla antigua de León, heard a band play at one of the plazas, and cheered on runners of every age at a run near the cathedral.

Inside a church in León.

In the evening, we ate a good tapas dinner at a local restaurant.

Out having dinner together with Alessandra and Torsten.
